The
Cuban Boys have been a driving force behind quirky pop
since they conceived their first demo track, Cuban Boy,
in 1998. A track which was played by John Peel on Radio
1 just two weeks after it was produced and which later
went on to become the theme tune to the cult BBC TV
Show, STILL GAME.
In 1999, the band were the rising stars of the indie-scene,
swinging over to fornicate with the commercial big boys
on their seductive Festive stocking-filler in the shape
of the chart-topping hit COGNOSCENTI VS INTELLIGENTSIA
(aka The Hamster Song) - a single which sold a million
copies.
The
passage of time may have moved on and positions may
have changed, but the band remain ecstatically entwined
with illicit sampling mayhem, knocking-up new tunes
to excite and bemuse the masses. Recently they have
released the critically acclaimed album THE SATELLITE
JUNKYARD which has been passionately supported by the
likes of John Kennedy at Xfm.
ALL GIRLS HAVE A VOLVO is the up and coming new
single which is due to bethrust in the public eye within
the next few weeks - a track straight from the top-shelf
to illustrate the Cuban Boys desire that education should
be continuous.
